The 5 Best Albums Released So Far This Year

Hello and welcome to another blogpost. In today's post I shall be telling you what, in my opinion, are the five best albums that have been released this year. This list will include albums that have been reviewed as well as those which haven't; I will also attach a song from each album in the hope that it will make you fall in love with it like I did! Without anymore hesitations, lets get on with the post...

5. Harry Styles - Harry Styles
We begin today's post with an album that I never expected to like but one that has blown me away. Harry Styles of all people released his debut record back in May and I surprisingly like every single song on it. Nowadays artists just put a bunch of singles on an album and nothing really fits together but Harry Styles has done the opposite as the album really tells a story, causing me to love the album even more. I shall attach "Sweet Creature" below as it is one of my favourites from the album and even though it may not be the most uptempo, it shows some lovely vocals that I think you will all really like like I do.

4. Lorde - Melodrama
In fourth place we have an incredible album but one you may not have seen of this blog before as I did not review it. Lorde has such a unique voice that no one can really replicate and her individuality really shines through on "Melodrama". Just like "Harry Styles", the album really tells a story and features some lovely vocals. I am lucky enough to be seeing Lorde next month in my hometown of Brighton and I cannot wait to witness one of her live shows as I can imagine them being so captivating and immersive like this album is. I shall attach "Perfect Places" down below (which was once my "Song Of The Week") as it is one of many Lorde songs that I cannot stop listening too!

3. Mura Masa - Mura Masa
Taking bronze position we have another album that has never been reviewed on my album before. Mura Masa is an artist that you will all know if you read my blog as I cannot get enough of him; I can tell you now his album does not let him down! Each song is an absolute anthem that I can't stop singing or dancing too. Mura Masa is one person that I would love to see live as his set would certainly be electric and like nothing I have ever seen before if his album is anything to go by. There are so many songs of his that I could attach to this post but I have decided on "What If I Go" as it was one of the first 'Mura Masa' songs that I fell in love with and I am still in utter awe of it.

2. Kehlani - SweetSexySavage
Just missing out on number one we have Kehlani whose debut album "SweetSexySavage" came out in January (the earliest of any album in this post), kicking the year off to a great start! Considering the album came out so long ago, its quite an achievement to have the wide majority of the songs still continuously stuck in my head and this is why I seriously think Kehlani is the future of R&B. Every song features great vocals and every song is so catchy, not forgetting that every song makes me want to dance along! The song I shall attach below is "Undercover" as I feel it is a very underrated  song and does not get the respect it deserves (I'm even singing it in my head whilst writing this)!

1. Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1
Lastly, the best album released so far this year has to be Calvin Harris' "Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1"! Every song is so catchy and makes me want to sing and/or dance along. In addition to this, the album features an array of my favourite artists (Kehlani, John Legend and Ariana Grande to name a few) and most of these artists showcase their amazing their vocals when featuring, creating an unbelievable record. Although there are literally so many songs that I want to attach, I've decided to attach "Skrt On Me (Ft. Nicki Minaj)" as it is so chilled back and it actually shows that Nicki Minaj is not just a good rapper and also a good singer; please give it a listen below...

Song Of The Week :
Before we wrap up today's post, we cannot forget the "Song Of The Week" which this week is Camila Cabello & Young Thug's "Havana". I have been a massive fan of Camila's solo music since she left Fifth Harmony and this is my favourite of any of her songs (although "Crying In The Club" does come close)! The song is so catchy and chilled-back and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a new song to fall in love with so make sure you check this anthem out.

So I hoped you enjoyed today's post. Next week I shall be discussing the best parts of my blog in honour of the first anniversary of my blog so make sure you tune in and get excited!

Artist Showcase : Next Town Down

Hello and welcome to another post on this blog. It seems like forever since I've done an "Artist Showcase" post but today we are back and I may even go to say that today's artist are my favourite ever boyband. They are called Next Town Down and you honestly need to hear them...

Christopher Louis, Terrence Thomas, Tre'Von Waters, Malik Knighten & Leon Outlaw Jr all form the band "Next Town Down", a band which specialises in R&B covers as well as mashups formed by themselves. They may not have a load of YouTube subscribers but throughout there short time as a band, they have managed to perform in-front of artists such as Mariah Carey and Boys II Men; a great achievement for anyone, let alone a new and fresh boyband! I would like to say I am an 'OG' fan as I have been following them for a long time so I thought it was about time I shared them with you.

Although I had been following them prior to this, the video which made me absolutely fall in love with the band was their "Evolution Of Boybands" video. The video shows the boys covering pretty much every boyband from the 1960's onwards (including my personal favourites "The Temptations") and each song flows into the next so fluidly and perfectly. In addition to this, their voices are all unbelievable (especially Terrence who is my favourite in the band). The video has the same clever concept as Pentatonix's "Evolution Of Music" and it is something you need in your life so listen to it below because you certainly don't want to miss out!

Alongside all of the band's covers (all of which you need to check out), recently in May, Next Town Down released their debut single "Good Times" and I can easily say it is one of my favourite songs of this year so far! I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous when I heard the band were releasing their single as I would've been disappointed if it wasn't as good as their fabulous covers that are very hard to level with; luckily the song blew me away. The song is so unbelievably catchy and is showcases every single one of the boys' voices so well meaning you need to listen to it down below...

Even though Next Town Down have had various success on their YouTube channel, the five-piece only have just over 100,000 subscribers which is way less than they deserve. I would really appreciate it if you went over to their channel and supported their stuff as well as streaming their song "Good Times" online; Next Town Down are incredible so please join me in getting them the respect they deserve!

Song Of The Week :
One of my favourite ever artists released a new song last week and I cannot explain how in love with it I am! The song is called "Ego" and it is by the gorgeous Ella Eyre with a feature from Ty Dolla $ign. The song is so catchy and it features some incredible vocals alongside a great message. I am honestly so happy that Ella Eyre is starting to break into the top 40 this year (first with "Came Here For Love" with Sigala and now this) because she is such an underrated artist that needs some long-awaited attention. Please support this song as it is definitely my current favourite.

So I hope you enjoyed today's post, next week I shall be uploading a post showing the best five albums released so far this year so get prepared for that!

7 Disney Movies That You Should Watch

Hello and welcome to another blogpost! Today I shall be uploading a post slightly different to my usual music-related content as I will be talking about 7 Disney movies that you should watch. These films include Live Action and Animated films as well as Disney Classics and Disney films you may have never heard of before. With that in mind, lets get into it...

The Jungle Book
We are kicking off todays post with an absolute classic! This film is one of my favourite Disney movies and its soundtrack is my favourite of any Disney movie. The film has been popular ever since its release nearly 50 years ago and features characters you cannot help but love! "The Bare Necessities" and "I Wanna Be Like You" are so iconic so if you have been living under a rock and have never seen this movie about a boy raised in the jungle or its Live Action remake, you should really go and see it as you are certainly missing out!

Big Hero 6
Next we move on to a fairly recent addition to the Disney family and it is definitely an emotional addition. I remember when I first watched "Big Hero 6" (a film about a boy and his personal companion who help save his invention) and I cried twice as the film is so very tear-jerking. Since watching the film, Baymax has become one of my favourite characters of any Disney film, just showing how much I love this film. This is definitely a film I would recommend watching as it offers a unique take on the overused 'united friends save the day' kind of plot.

The Good Dinosaur
From one emotional film to another, "The Good Dinosaur" is another film that made me cry several times. For some reason, I never watched this film when it came out as I don't feel it really got the promotion it deserved and I only watched the film about six months ago, however, when I did finally watch the movie, I instantly regretted not watching it before. The film makes Dinosaurs seem so loveable and sweet which I just love so go and watch this whenever you can ; it is truly and utterly amazing.

Camp Rock 1 & 2
This next film series is very different to the past three but it is still just as good, if not better! "Camp Rock" is a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) and I love every single song and moment from it. The film features Demi Lovato who you all know I love and the film is such a feel-good movie throughout it all. The sequel, "Camp Rock 2 : The Final Jam", is just as good as the one before which is why I mentioned it alongside its processor. If you are looking for a fun, new(ish) musical film to watch, I suggest you go with "Camp Rock" as it is my favourite DCOM (even over the "High School Musical" trilogy).

Lilo & Stitch
The fifth movie in today's post is another classic and another one of my all-time favourite Disney films (behind one other film which is also in this post). "Lilo & Stitch" is such an iconic film with such a great message that 'anyone can find family'. Stitch is so cute and is my favourite ever Disney character, I cant get enough of him. Everything about this film is amazing : the island setting, the characters, the music, everything! I can honestly not recommend this film enough if you have somehow never seen it before and even if you have seen it before. How can you not love this film?!

Descendants 1 & 2
The penultimate set of films in todays post is the newest one as it's sequel only came out last month. "Descendants" is a very unique film as it focuses on the 'next generation' of Disney protagonists and villains making me fall in love with how bizarre it is. The film is also a musical one and is filled with many songs that I'll bet you'll love like I did. "Descendants 2" is, in my opinion, even better than the first one and it also features Chyna Anne McClain who I loved in "A.N.T Farm" who is Uma, the daughter of The Little Mermaid's Ursula. These movies are so innovative and I would say they're certainly worth the watch.
Bolt
Finally we have my favourite Disney movie of all time! I don't know what it is about "Bolt" but I just love it so much as I think it is one-hundred percent the most underrated Disney film. I am not a big animal person myself but I cant help but fall in love with Bolt, Mittens and Rhino in the film. To be honest, I would not be surprised if you haven't heard of this movie before as it did not get as much promotion or praise as it deserved but this is such an incredible film about unlikely friendship and teamwork. Whenever you can, you simply must watch this film as it is unbelievably brilliant.

Song Of The Week :
Last weekend when I was in London, due to cancellations, me and my friend booked some last-minute tickets to Kinky Boots in the West End and it was honestly one of the best last-minute decisions I have made. The show was so much better than I was expecting and I fell in love with it and all of its soundtrack. The show is so unique so I just had to mention it and one of it's songs. My chosen song is "Step One" which is my favourite as I can imagine Fall Out Boy (a band who I love) singing it. You need to give it a listen asap!

So I hoped you enjoyed today's post! Next week I shall be uploading another "Artist Showcase" post on Next Town Down who had my "Song Of The Week" not so long ago; get excited!

My Favourite Beyonce Songs (10 - 1)

Hello and welcome to the finale of my first ever mini series on this blog. Today I shall be revealing my top ten Beyonce songs as well as attaching the songs features (when possible). This is going to be a long and exciting post so get ready...

No. 10 = Drunk In Love
In tenth place we have one of Beyonce's most recent classics. This song is so catchy and I cannot help but singalong whenever it comes on. The song also shows how powerful Beyonce and Jay-Z are as they can literally dance on a beach and have critics praise the video but lets be honest, who doesn't love their relationship (even though it may be fairly controversial). In 2014, I saw Beyonce and Jay-Z perform this track together and I can definitely say it was one of the best moments of my entire life, meaning the song means a lot to me.

No. 9 = Sandcastles
Next up in number nine we have "Sandcastles", my favourite track from "Lemonade"! The reason why I am such a fan of this song is because it is so emotional and raw, not forgetting how catchy it is. I am not even lying when I say that I cried when I first heard the track as "Lemonade" as an album tells such a story and this song is the 'perfect resolution'. If I ever heard this song live, I would certainly be in tears like I was when I saw Beyonce's GRAMMY performance of it but for now I'll just be forever in awe of the track.

No. 8 = Sweet Dreams
In eight place is "Sweet Dreams", a song which I think was highly under-appreciated, even if it was released as a single. This track has some unbelievable vocals and is probably one of Beyonce's catchiest songs, making me love it as much as I do. Just like "Sandcastles", I bet this song would be incredible live but I have sadly never seen it live. This song is fierce and I only think it wasn't highly-appreciated because it got overshadowed by hits such as "Single Ladies" and "Halo". Anyways, I can get enough of this so you should not get enough of it either!

No. 7 = I Care
Number seven on my countdown is "I Care" which I think I would describe as Beyonce's most soulful song, a title which obviously means I cannot get enough of the track. It is very surprising that hardly anyone has heard of this song as I cannot praise it enough. The song has great vocals, a chilled-out instrumental and a catchy chorus; what more could you want?! Seriously though, if you haven't heard this song before, please listen to it below as you won't regret it (it is even better live as you can really sense the power and passion within Queen Bey's voice).

No. 6 = Love On Top
Just missing out on a spot in the top 5 we have another song from Beyonce's "4" album but this is one that you should all know! "Love On Top" is such an iconic R&B song for so many reasons. It is so catchy, every time you listen it makes you want to sing and/or dance-along and most important of all, it was the song Beyonce sang before she reveals she was pregnant with Blue Ivy, an event that was so iconic! The song is also absolutely electric live as everyone enjoys it so you certainly should too, it is a song that is 'one-of-a-kind'.

No. 5 = Superpower
When Beyonce released her self-titled album back in 2013 and I saw that she had collaborated with Frank Ocean, I knew that it was going to be one of my favourite tracks of hers (before I had even heard it in fact); the song did not disappoint. What makes the song stand out over the rest is it's harmonies and the contrast between Beyonce's high voice and Frank's low voice, the song is truly something else so I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a new song to fall in love with. Beyonce and Frank Ocean must've had their own kind of superpowers to create this empowering track.

No. 4 = 1+1
In fourth place we have yet another song from Beyonce's "4" album (can you tell that its my favourite yet?!) and this time it is a slower number; its the beautiful "1+1". This song is one of my favourite Beyonce ballads because it feels so intimate and personal (it only features Beyonce's vocals and a piano). The song also features vocals which I think could possibly be Beyonce's best. If you somehow have never heard this song, please listen to it because you are missing out if you don't!

No. 3 = Why Don't You Love Me
Taking the bronze position we have "Why Don't You Love Me" which is a sassy and empowering song for all people who want some attention from their lovers. The song is so catchy and features some truly amazing vocals that anyone would be blessed to carry out. If I am being honest, I would probably have to say that "I Am Sasha Fierce" is my least favourite album because it is so pop-orientated but this song makes the album so much greater. This is a song that you need to hear...

No. 2 = Countdown
In second place, almost becoming my favourite Beyonce song, we have "Countdown" which always makes me want to just get up and dance! The song and its beat are so infectious that I genuinely think it is almost impossible to not fall in love with it. In addition to this, the music video to the track is so colourful and abstract, making it one of my favourite ever music videos; when this is accompanied by catchy lyrics and several vocal techniques, the song becomes flawless. If you haven't listened to this and have been living under a rock, go and do it asap.

No. 1 = Listen
Finally, after 49 other amazing songs, my favourite ever Beyonce song is the phenomenal "Listen"! This song has so many great features, making it pretty much perfection! First of all, the vocals are on-of-a-kind and some which everyone aspires to achieve. Alongside this, the lyrics are so meaningful and catchy that you just have to singalong whenever you listen; lastly, the song is from the movie "Dreamgirls" which is one of my favourite films of all time, adding to my admiration of it. This song is a masterpiece and I cannot praise it enough so surely you must love it too. If you don't, what is wrong with you? This is heavenly!

Song Of The Week :
This week's "Song Of The Week" is a song by an artist that I have only recently discovered, her name is L Devine and her song is "School Girls". This track actually got into my ears through a YouTube ad and I immediately fell in love with it. The reason why I love it so much is because it is so relatable and honest. The vocals may not be incredible but they're not bad; the message behind this song makes up for that though. I would certainly suggest you listen to "School Girls" as it is a beautiful song.
So I hoped you enjoyed the finale of "My Favourite Beyonce Songs"! Please let me know if you would like another mini-series like this one as I enjoyed writing it. Next week I shall be uploading a new style of post on Disney movies so get excited for that!
