7 Songs You Should Listen To Pt.13

Hello and welcome to another post on this blog of mine. Today I will be showing you seven more great songs that you should listen to but before I proceed, I must apologise for the absence of the last two blogposts. I recently went on an amazing holiday to Disneyland Paris (which next week's post will be about) for four nights, hence why there were no blogposts on Friday and Monday. Anyways, lets start with the post...

DJ Khaled Feat. Beyonce & Jay Z - Shining
First of all I thought I just had to mention Beyonce's most recent release which I clearly love. The main reason why I love it is because it is extremely catchy and I cannot stop singing along to it. I am also a fan of the track because it is quite different to Queen Bey's usual material, taking a more hiphop approach. You should definitely listen to this song though as I reckon you will be surprised and certainly in a good way!

Anderson .Paak - Come Down
Anderson .Paak was an artist that I featured on this series not so long ago and I am still thoroughly in love with him. "Come Down" is such an empowering song that is bound to get you dancing along with all the aggression contained within its lyrics. I honestly cannot wait to see him live when he supports Bruno Mars in April and I think all of you should too if you ever get the chance. This song is a great one though so please listen down below...

KAYTRANADA & Craig David - Got It Good
I was a fan of this song (and the album containing it) ever since it came out but recently I have started to fall in love with it! All of KAYTRANADA's music is just so relaxing and tranquil and when that is accompanied by the soothing vocals of my guilty pleasure Craig David, an incredible and calming song is born. Please listen to this track even if it may get stuck in your head all day as it is unbelievably catchy; I sadly cannot attach it to this post though.

JP Cooper - Birthday
This next song is potentially my favourite song of this entire year so far! The reason for that is because JP Cooper's voice is incredible, hitting some lovely high notes alongside some great low ones. The song is also fairly linked to the Motown era which I guess is only going to make me love it more. Also, I must say that the whole of the "Fifty Shades Darker" is phenomenal and definetly worth a listen.

Adele - Water Under The Bridge
The next song in this post is by someone who you all know and love but I am not sure whether you will know this song. The track is from Adele's latest album "25" (which I love) and I am a big fan of this song as it differs from the 'typical' ballads you expect from the singer. With amazing vocals and a chorus that will make you want to sing/dance along, this is a song I think everyone reading this post should go and listen to!

Izzy Bizu - Talking To You
Izzy Bizu is an artist who you have never heard of but she is quite successful considering she is only 22 years old! She won BBC's Introducing award back in 2016, she has supported Sam Smith and Rudimental on their tours and she was even nominated for the prestigious Brits Critics Choice award back in 2015. Anyways, this song is one that will have you singing along with its hybrid of Pop and Jazz. Izzy Bizu's voice also sounds rather similar to Amy Winehouse in this song which is quite unbelievable! You need to check this out...

Kehlani - Undercover
Last but not least we have yet another Kehlani song! It seems like she has been in every one of these posts but it is simply because I love her material so much. If you read my recent review on her "SweetSexySavage" album, you will know that it shows a range of Kehlani's vocals which I feel really compliment the song. I also love how the song is partly acoustic, making it diverse when it is compared to others. Kehlani is an artist that needs some more recognition!
So I hope you enjoyed another "7 Songs You Should Listen To" post. Get ready for my next post on Disneyland as it is going to be a great one!

Album Review : SweetSexySavage by Kehlani

Hello and welcome to an extremely long-awaited album review. Today I will be reviewing Kehlani's incredible debut album "SweetSexySavage" in the hope that it will attract you. One slight disclaimer, I will only be reviewing the first 12 tracks of this album as I do not want it to seem like its dragging on with its 19 tracks. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy!

Track 1 = Intro
The first track on the singer's album is certainly a statement! The "Intro" is an incredible poem, addressing those that Kehlani has crossed on her way to this momentous occasion. She also apologises for anyone that she might that conflicted with and tells them all that everything she does is because of them. It may only be a minute long, but this is a rather empowering start to the album! Sadly, there is no audio that I can attach to this post but make sure you listen to it whenever you can.

Track 2 = Keep On
Possibly my favourite track on the album, "Keep On" immediately makes you feel happy and want to dance along. Being the first 'actual' song on her first ever album, it had to make an impact and it sure did! This is one of the songs that will get stuck in your head for days and I am certainly not complaining about that; even whilst writing this post, I am singing the infectious lyrics in my head. This is a song you seriously need to listen to!

Track 3 = Distraction
"Distraction", the lead single from the album, is one that I have been loving for a seriously long time as it appeared in my "7 Songs You Should Listen To" towards the end of last year. Just like "Keep On", this song will get stuck in your head for days and it will also make you want to dance along! Like I said before, I have loved this song for a long time and I expect to love it for a lot longer! Listen to this song below as I know you will love it!

Track 4 = Piece Of Mind
After the past two song being extremely upbeat, "Piece Of Mind" decides to take a slightly slower approach which totally works. Yet again, this song is really catchy which I feel runs through the majority of the album. Also, the beat will 100% get you either clicking or clapping along as it is so infectious, something which is quite skilful considering it is quite a low-tempo song. For a song that is very different to any other, give this one a listen.

Track 5 = Undercover
The fifth song on this album is great because it tricks you into thinking the instrumental is acoustic with a guitar before the amazing beat kicks in! Alongside this, the chorus is once again incredibly catchy and is bound to get you singing along. The singer also manages to show quite a variety of vocals in this song which makes a nice difference. This song is unfortunately not available to attach to this post but I hope you go and listen to it in your own time.

Track 6 = CRZY
Next up we have a song that I have loved for a seriously long time but have weirdly not mentioned before. Anyways, "CRZY" is an amazing song as it just makes you always want to dance along. The song also features some rap which is nice from the artist as it does not always happen on her tracks! This song, alongside the rest of the album, is worthy of a listen so make sure you give it that listen down below...

Track 7 = Personal
"Personal" is a song that I immediately fell in love with as, you guessed it, its unbelievably catchy right from the beginning! Just like the last song, this song also features rapping which is great and really hard to make catchy, showing great achievement for the artist. Even though the chorus may only consist of very few words, it is a great one that you will not be able to stop singing so give this amazing song the respect it deserves by listening to it even though I cannot attach it to this post.

Track 8 = Not Used To It
Track Eight of the album is a rather peculiar one as it has that EDM beat that many of her other songs have but it has a slow tempo which I am not sure of if I am being honest with you. If I had to pick one, this would probably be my least favourite album on the album but it is certainly not bad! I just feel that it doesn't have that feel-good connotation that all of the other tracks have. This is also another track that I cannot attach but if you want to, try and understand my point whilst listening night to it on another platform.

Track 9 = Everything Is Yours
Although this track isn't like the other ones, I really like it as you can really feel how it is so heartfelt. Kehlani really manages to get her emotions across with this song as it does not feature many instruments in it, making people just focus on her voice, unlike "Not Used To It". Whoever this lover of Kehlani is, he should consider himself lucky as she clearly cares about him so much!

Track 10 = Advice
After a couple of songs that differ from the rest of album, "Advice" is another song that is really catchy. The mid-tempo track is one that is actually really empowering as it tells a story; it tells Kehlani's story on how she has served a bad life and doesn't want others to go through it. The lyrics obviously mean a lot and I personally really appreciate them and you should too! Give this a listen just below this paragraph.

Track 11 = Do U Dirty
The penultimate track of this blogpost is another amazing one that I have loved for a long time. It may be a low-tempo ballad but it sure is catchy. I have been singing along to this song for months now and it is about time you do the same. Also, this song is just like "Advice" in the way that it is very emotional which you can tell by the way Kehlani extends and over-pronounciates her words. This is honestly a great song that you honestly need to have the courtesy of listening to whenever you can possibly do so!

Track 12 = Escape
Finally we come to the twelfth track of the album (even though there are seven more great tracks). This song is a typical catchy ballad which actually gives me nostalgia as it reminds me of the music I used to listen to when I was younger. This is an amazing song that shows off Kehlani's incredible vocals that are highly unappreciated so I think it really deserves a listen from everyone who reads this post!

Overall, I think this album is truly phenomenal and I think Kehlani really needs to be heard! This album is so different to anything in today's music industry and now that I have listened to it, I don't know what I would do without it. If this album is anything to go by, 2017 should be an amazing year in terms of music! Nearly every song on the record is catchy and it really shows elements of R&B which is one of my favourite genres. Anyways, here are the rankings for all of the albums that I have reviewed on this blog (including a switch between Bruno Mars and John Legend because I now prefer "24k Magic")...

1. Kehlani - SweetSexySavage
2. Bruno Mars - 24k Magic
3. John Legend - Love & Darkness
4.Childish Gambino - Awaken My Love

So I hope you enjoyed this highly anticipated album review, expect another one next month when Ed Sheeran releases his new album.

7 Songs You Should Listen To Pt.12

Hello and welcome to the twelfth edition of my "7 Songs You Should Listen To" series. Today i have got seven more incredible songs so I hope you enjoy them.

Ella Eyre - Typical Me
First up we have one of my favourite ever artists, yet I have only mentioned her on this blog a short number of times. Ella Eyre is such a distinctive and unique artist with a voice too soulful to handle. Her album "Feline" is one of my favourite ever albums as it is one of the only ones where I can never 'skip' a song. In particular, I love "Typical Me" as it is so subtly aggressive and powerful. The song is also rather catchy and Ella Eyre's voice is truly amazing in it. You should really have a listen below!

Hozier - Jackie & Wilson
My next artist you may know from his extremely popular song "Take Me To Church" but today I am focusing on a song of his that is much better in my opinion, "Jackie & Wilson". Like Ella Eyre, Hozier has such a unique voice that you can clearly distinguish whenever listening to one of his tracks and that really 'shines through' in this track. The song always makes me feel happy as its instrumental puts you in that mood; when that instrumental is accompanied by great singing, it becomes an unbelievable song.

Charli XCX - After The Afterparty (Acoustic)
The third song in this post is one that has an original version that is immensely popular but if you ask me, the acoustic version is ten times better! The reason why I like this version is because it really showcases what vocals Charli XCX is capable of which you do not see in her other songs. I can also guarantee you that this song will be stuck in your head after listening as it is just so catchy and infectious. Sadly, I can only find the original to attach to this post so make sure you listen to the great acoustic version after reading this post.

Shawn Mendes - No Promises
Next we have an artist who I have grown to love over this past year! Shawn Mendes has such a raw yet beautiful voice and you can really sense that in this song. My favourite song from his "Illuminate" album, "No Promises" is the kind of song that will get you singing and dancing along whatever mood you are in as it is so catchy. I also love the song as it shows the whole of Shawn's vocal range with him starting off with some really low notes but also featuring some amazing falsetto. This is a song you need to listen to!

Dua Lipa - Thinking 'Bout You
If I am being honest, Dua Lipa is not my favourite artist in the world but this song really shows what the young singer is capable of, hence why I love the song so much and have put it in this post. "Thinking 'Bout You" is quite slow and relaxed compared to her other songs which maybe suggests why I like it so much; at the end of the day, the most popular songs are the ones that stand out! Anyways, this song features some great vocals so I really think you should be listening to it whenever you can.

Kehlani - Keep On
Kehlani's phenomenal debut album "SweetSexySavage" came out last week (a review of the album is coming on Monday) and I am utterly in love with it and all of its content. In particular, I love the song "Keep On" as it is the kind of song that will always have you bopping along whatever mood you are in. I must admit, Kehlani's vocals are not the best in this song but sometimes that doesnt matter when the song is catchy and is bound to get people singing along! If you have not already, please listen to Kehlani's album after reading this as it is unbelievably good.

Tori Kelly - Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
The final song in this post is one from the recent film "Sing" (which I absolutely love!) and it is by none other than Tori Kelly who voices Meena in the film. As the film is based on a singing competition, you would be right in thinking that there are several songs but this is by far my favourite. The reason for this is because I am a massive Stevie Wonder fan and a massive Tori Kelly fan so when one covers the other, it is bound to be incredible! I really recommend you go and see the film "Sing" as it is great; have a 'taster' of it with this amazing song!

So I hope you enjoyed this post informing you on seven songs that I have fallen in love with, expect much more of this series in the future!
